Active member – Research division
The Research division is currently recruiting active members for the 2023/24 academic year. Before applying for a Research position at BAINSA, we suggest to carefully read the activities and responsibilities you will carry out as an active member should your application be successful.

- Open slots for Semester II: 3-4
- Implement the code of (Python) and publish two articles per semester, depicting a technology from a major AI conference (ICML, ICLR, ECCV etc.)
- Attend weekly meetings
- Present your articles at two of those meetings
- Skim through preliminary material before the weekly meetings on the latest in AI
- Mentorship from more senior students, some whom work at Amazon, Microsoft etc. as well as published researchers
- GPU equipment
- An intimate community of driven peers with a similar drive for learning and AI
- A platform where you and your work will be actively advertised in the Bocconi community (and elsewhere)
- Sponsored attendance in major AI events in Europe
- First-hand access to BAINSA events
- Free BAINSA merchandize
- You have some programming experience in at least one programming language
- You are familiar with basic elements of computer science, data structures, and algorithms. E.g. graphs, arrays, dictionaries etc.
- Previous experience with ML paradigms is a bonus, but it is not required
- The main goal of BAINSA is learning, so we do not expect you to be proficient in everything: you will learn with us and enjoy it
- ~90% of the weekly meetings you attend will consist of you simply listening to a well-digested presentation about an AI technology given by another BAINSA Researcher + code demonstration. Followed by a short discussion
- How awesome is it for somebody to be walking you through complex material and you to be simply absorbing?
- The time commitment in weeks like this will be about 2-3 hours for the week
- ~10% of the weekly meetings you will be expected to give a presentation on an AI topic of your choice from the current theme the Association works on (NLP, CV etc.)
- It is entirely up to you to choose which weeks you want to present, but it is required that you do at least two times per semester
- The time commitment for preparing your presentation, article and code (2x per semester) will be about 20-25 hours per project. You have the entire semester to spread that out as you wish
Active Member – Digital Division
- Active Member – Digital Division
- Desired n. of members: 5
- Through your creative input, you will have the opportunity to shape the digital face of the Association
- Your work will be seen by anyone who interacts with the association, so the impact of your design will contribute to shaping the public perception
- Maintain the social media platforms of the Association
- Create at last one high-quality post every week
- Post on and maintain the website of the Association
- A very strong interest in AI and its impact
- Attendance to weekly Board meetings
- Basic knowledge of AI and programming is a bonus
- Basic photo-editing skills
- Some experience in social media (Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Your work and meetings will be expected to take you 2-3 hours per week

Become an Associate!
You can always join BAINSA as an Associate! This means being part of the community and having the following advantages:- Receive the BAINSA membership card (valid for one year);
- Take part in one internal meeting per semester;
